Best High School Boys’ Coach
The 2019 season represented the Mount Saint Joseph football team’s best season yet under fifth-year head coach Rich Holzer.
The Gaels won the MIAA A Conference championship game, 17-10, against previously undefeated McDonogh in November to cap off a 10-win season. Mount Saint Joseph’s productive offense was led throughout the season by junior quarterback Billy Atkins, who threw for 3,089 yards and 36 touchdowns, and senior running back Marlowe Wax, who ran for 1,330 yards and 18 touchdowns.
