When the 2022 NFL Draft begins, the Ravens will look to fill several key holes on the roster. While they have added players in free agency, one area of need they still need to address is the offensive line, especially offensive tackle and center.
The Ravens now have 10 draft picks in 2022 after the announcement of compensatory picks. What if they decided to fix the offensive line problem forever — or for at least a few seasons? Here are three linemen they could draft with each selection.
In 2021, I did this as a wide receiver exercise. Let’s take a look at 2022 for the offensive line and the options that could be available at each pick.
Round 1: Pick 14
Might Be: Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State (would have to trade up)
Could Be: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
Should Be: Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa
Round 2: Pick 45
Might Be: Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota
Could Be: Tyler Smith, OL, Tulsa
Should Be: Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State
Round 3: Pick 76
Might Be: Darian Kinnard, OG, Kentucky
Could Be: Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State
Should Be: Jamaree Salyer, OL, Georgia
Round 3: Pick 100
Might Be: Spencer Burford, IOL, Texas-San Antonio
Could Be: Rasheed Walker, OT, Penn State
Should Be: Cole Strange, IOL, Chattanooga
Round 4: Picks 110, 119, 128, 139 and 141
Might Be: Alec Lindstrom, IOL, Boston College
Could Be: Cade Mays, IOL, Tennessee
Should Be: Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana
Bonus: Zach Tom, OT/C, Wake Forest and Matt Waletzko, OT, North Dakota
Round 6: Pick 197
Might Be: Nick Zakelj, OL, Fordham
Could Be: Luke Goedeke, OT, Central Michigan
Should Be: Joshua Ezeudu, IOL, North Carolina
Some Notes:
• Offensive tackle is thin as far as Day 1 starters. Teams will have to get them in Rounds 1 and 2.
• But this is a very solid class at guard and center (fourth round is a happy spot for a center).
• I would expect the Ravens to select at least two offensive linemen, especially if they make all 10 picks.
