2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Momentum Swing
For 20 years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have used the Styx song “Renegade” in a key second-half moment to try to energize the crowd and team. In December, they did so successfully. Just … not the right team. After Calais Campbell blocked a Chris Boswell field goal, the opening drum beats hit and … the Ravens took ownership of the song. Players whipped their own towels and sang along, firing up third-string quarterback Anthony Brown and the offense ahead of a game-sealing scoring drive that lasted 7:55. Perhaps the jig is up.
