2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Chris “Bubba” Alleyne
Baltimore baseball fans are pretty familiar with the impact a dynamic center fielder can have, so it should be no surprise that Chris “Bubba” Alleyne served as a catalyst for Maryland baseball’s big season. He hit .331/.422/.673 with 24 home runs and 24 steals in 62 games as a fifth-year senior, helping the Terps host an NCAA Tournament regional in College Park. Alleyne was drafted in the 19th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers in July. Here’s hoping he returns to the area as a big leaguer one day.
