When the 2022 NFL Draft begins, the Baltimore Ravens will look to fill several key holes on the roster. While they have added players in free agency, one area they still need to address is the defensive line, particularly at edge rusher.
The Ravens have 10 draft picks in 2022, so what if they decided to fix the pass rush/EDGE problem forever? Well, for at least a few seasons. Here are three players they could draft with each selection.
Earlier, I did this as an offensive line exercise. Let’s take a look at the edge rushers and the options that could be available at each pick.
Round 1, Pick 14
Might Be: Travon Walker, Georgia (may have to trade up)
Could Be: Boye Maye, Minnesota (could trade down and still take him)
Should Be: Jermaine Johnson, Florida State
Round 2, Pick 45
Might Be: David Ojabo, Michigan (true wild card on where he gets drafted due to Achilles injury)
Could Be: Logan Hall, Houston
Should Be: Cameron Thomas, San Diego State
Round 3, Pick 76
Might Be: Nik Bonitto, Oklahoma
Could Be: Drake Jackson, USC
Should Be: Sam Williams, Mississippi
Round 3, Pick 100
Might Be: Tyreke Smith, Ohio State
Could Be: Kingsley Enagbare, South Carolina
Should Be: Myjai Sanders, Cincinnati
Round 4, Picks 110, 119, 128, 139 and 141
Might Be: Dominique Robinson, Miami (Ohio)
Could Be: Isaiah Thomas, Oklahoma
Should Be: DeAngelo Malone, Western Kentucky
Round 6, Pick 197
Might Be: Esezi Otomewo, Minnesota
Could Be: Cade Hall, San Jose State
Should Be: Alex Wright, UAB
Some Notes:
• Top-heavy class, but excellent at the top.
• The fourth round is not ideal for the Ravens in selecting an EDGE.
• I actually like the developmental prospects the Ravens could draft in the sixth round.
• Look for the Ravens to address EDGE at least once in their first four picks.
