Best Goodbye
The “lovely totals” for Joe Angel’s career include 42 years in baseball, 19 with the Baltimore Orioles. He said “hasta la vista” in February, announcing his retirement just before the start of the season.
The Bogota, Colombia, native was an outstanding play-by-play voice and even more significantly helped a number of Baltimoreans learn about Latin culture.
The Birds brought him back in April for an Opening Day first pitch before he waved bye-bye to Baltimore.
