In April, Maryland center Jalen Smith (Mount Saint Joseph) surprised the basketball world by announcing he would return to school for his sophomore season without testing the NBA Draft waters.
In May, point guard Anthony Cowan Jr. withdrew his name from the draft as well, setting up the deepest (and perhaps most talented overall) roster the Terps have had in years.
It paid immediate dividends, as the Terps raced to the best start in the Mark Turgeon era.
