Orioles infield prospect Coby Mayo recently chatted with PressBox about his favorite athlete growing up, his favorite spot to eat in town and more.
PressBox: What’s a bucket-list place you’ve never been?
Coby Mayo: I don’t really like traveling [far], but I really would like to go to Hawaii. It’s a far plane ride, but I would still really like to go there.
PB: What’s your favorite pregame meal?
CM: Basic chicken and rice from Chipotle — nothing too heavy, but enough to get me going.
PB: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
CM: Giancarlo Stanton
PB: What’s your favorite thing to do on a day off?
CM: Just chill and play some video games. Recently, I’ve been playing a lot of NHL.
PB: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
CM: Probably “The Benchwarmers”
PB: Have you been binge-watching any TV shows?
CM: “Big Brother”
PB: Who is your favorite musician?
CM: I would definitely say Drake. I think Drake is top-tier.
PB: What has been your favorite minor league road trip?
CM: Somerset [in Bridgewater Township, N.J.] was pretty cool. It’s a really nice area.
PB: What’s your favorite spot to eat in Baltimore?
CM: Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, hands down.
PB: What’s your favorite thing to eat there?
CM: They’ve got everything. The crab cakes are obviously amazing. The calamari is amazing. Those are the top two.
