2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Gridiron Pursuit
You probably know the Jared Bernhardt story by now. He scored 202 career goals at Maryland and won the Tewaaraton Award as the top player in college lacrosse in the spring of 2021, then led the Ferris State football team to the Division II championship as a quarterback the following fall. Bernhardt signed with the Atlanta Falcons after the 2022 NFL Draft, then made the 53-man roster after a solid preseason (five catches, one touchdown). He got into a couple regular-season games before hitting injured reserve in October with a groin injury.
