2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Entrance
Mets closer Edwin Díaz’s “Narco” entrance generated a lot of buzz in 2022 … but we preferred Félix Bautista’s late-season entrance at Camden Yards. Once he became entrenched as the Orioles’ closer, Bautista exited the bullpen to Omar’s whistle from “The Wire,” then jogged to the mound during a lightshow. As if a 6-foot-8, 270-pound right-hander throwing 100-plus mph fastballs wasn’t intimidating enough for hitters.
