2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

It had been seven years since M&T Bank Stadium had hosted any sort of soccer match at all and 10 since the stadium had welcomed a high-level European pro club. That changed in July, when nearly 40,000 fans packed the stadium to watch Premier League clubs Arsenal and Everton square off in the “Charm City Match.” Among the highlights was future USMNT World Cup goalie Matt Turner playing all 90 minutes in a 2-nil Arsenal victory.
