2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

In early December, Diamond Miller hit a pull-up jumper at the buzzer to lift the Maryland women’s basketball team to a 74-72 win at No. 7 Notre Dame, then signaled for quiet from the stunned crowd. The shot even caught the attention of Kevin Durant. “Aye Diamond Miller, u a killer for that Dirk fade at the buzzer, good win Terps,” he tweeted. Later in the month, Shyanne Sellers hit a buzzer-beating game-winner of her own at Purdue, then Maryland topped No. 6 UConn at home.
