Not a lot of pickups this week because if you made it this far, you likely don’t need to make many, if any, waiver claims. Good luck in your championship games!
Gardner Minshew, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: My top pickup this week if you’re a Jalen Hurts owner or in need of a better option at quarterback. Minshew threw for 355 yards against Dallas’ solid secondary and accounted for three touchdowns, including a rushing score. The Eagles have playmakers on offense, and I feel more confident starting Minshew than Tom Brady, Russell Wilson or Daniel Jones.
Isaiah Hodgins, WR, New York Giants: Flying under the radar in recent weeks is Hodgins, who has finished as a top-20 WR in three of the last four weeks. He saw 11 targets in Week 16 and found the end zone once again, making him a FLEX-worthy play.
Shane Zylstra, TE, Detroit Lions: He scored three touchdowns this week so he’s worth mentioning, but I wouldn’t expect a repeat performance in championship week. If you’re extremely desperate at tight end, he’s someone to consider but I also trust 25 other tight ends, and that’s saying something considering how weak the position has been this year.
Jacksonville Jaguars, D/ST: A year after Urban Meyer made this organization the laughingstock of the NFL, Doug Pederson has them atop the AFC South. The Jags this week take on the Texans, who are hands down the worst team in the NFL. They’re a top-10 option, and I feel confident starting them this week.
