After being named Best Large Event of 2022 by the Maryland Tourism Coalition, the third annual MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill presented by Brown Advisory returns to the Fair Hill Special Event Zone in Cecil County, MD, Oct. 19-22, 2023. In an effort to build upon the best party North of Baltimore, tailgating packages have been enhanced with a limited number going on sale to the public on July 7. Tickets for this event are powered by Tixr, the official and exclusive ticketing service provider of the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill.
The Cross Country Tailgating Pass is a top-of-the-line opportunity that provides attendees with once-in-a-lifetime access to the world’s best Eventing athletes as they take on the 2023 MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill courses. The Cross Country Tailgating Pass allows attendees to be part of the thrilling action of the cross-country phase of Eventing, best described as an equestrian triathlon, all while enjoying a full day of outdoor food, drink and fun with friends.
Passes for tailgating provide attendees with access for one (1) vehicle to park in a reserved, designated tailgating space in one of Fair Hill’s three cross-country fields. This pass gives tailgaters a reserved spot for the full duration of both the CCI3-L (3 Star) competition on Saturday morning and CCI5-L (5 Star) competition on Saturday afternoon.
Attendees who purchase a tailgate pass also receive a total of ten (10) Saturday General Admission (GA) tickets for themselves and their guests (with an opportunity to purchase additional Saturday GA tickets before checking out), easy access to walk alongside over four miles of this year’s Cross Country Courses up close and personal to all the action on Saturday, unlimited access to Fair Hill’s curated Retail Vendor Areas, on-site fan activations, as well as a variety of food and beverage offerings both out on course and in the infield. Shuttle access will also be available throughout the day.
There are three tailgating fields that attendees can choose from:
Timber Field
Timber Field affords incredible views for tailgaters as well as convenient proximity to the infield and Main Arena. Catch horses as they gallop away from the Main Arena and navigate the Timber Field fences. Timber Field offers great proximity to exciting fences on both courses, including the views of the brand new Sunken Road complex. Plus, many of these spots come with the added benefit of great proximity to the on-course concessions and livestream video board.
Middle Hay Field
Tailgating spaces in Middle Hay Field boast panoramic views of this entire field. Plus, attendees can catch both courses as they head home to their finishes in the upper corner of Middle Hay Field. Middle Hay Field is full of technical fences and combinations, making for exciting viewing action. As the middle field of the course, tailgaters will also have easy walking access to both Timber Field and Sawmill Field.
Sawmill Field
Sawmill Field has a variety of tailgating locations offering sweeping views of the upper portion of the largest field and many of its exciting elements, including the Sawmill Water Complex and the exhilarating Fair Hill Drop. With the other cross-country jumps, concessions and video board only a quick walk-away, you and your guests are sure to have a great time in Sawmill Field.
The four days of Eventing competition feature Dressage on Thursday and Friday, Cross-Country on Saturday showcasing Ian Stark-designed courses, and Show Jumping on Sunday. The Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill is one of only two 5 Star level equestrian events of its kind in the United States and just the seventh worldwide.
More information about the tailgating packages can be found here. General tickets for the third edition of this event are currently on sale. A variety of single and multi-day ticket packages, exclusive Club and VIP Hospitality packages and General Admission (GA) tickets starting at just $15 are available.
