PressBox recently chatted with Towson football redshirt senior Daniel Raymond about his favorite sports star as a kid, the show he’s been binging lately and more. The 6-foot, 200-pound linebacker has posted 27 tackles (2.5 for loss), one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery through the Tigers’ 3-3 start. Raymond is a native of Fort Washington, Md., and graduate of Friendly High School.

PressBox: What’s a bucket-list place you’ve never been?
Daniel Raymond: I really want to go to Peru. A lot of my friends tend to go to Peru or Puerto Rico for vacation or vibes or birthdays. I’ve actually never really been out of the country besides England.

PB: Who was your favorite sports star as a kid?
DR: Favorite sports star was Ray Lewis. That guy is something else — just his intensity and how much he prepares but how it shows on the field, he was different. He was too different, and he was just a dominant force whenever he was on the field.

PB: What would you be if you weren’t a football player?
DR: If I wasn’t a football player I would be a forensic analyst in biomedical science.

PB: Are you a good cook?
DR: I can cook pretty well. I believe I am a great cook. You would not be disappointed if you had my steak and mac.

PB: Do you have a hidden talent?
DR: I have many, many talents, but none of them are hidden. I can sing pretty well.

PB: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
DR: “Bridge to Terabithia”

PB: If you could trade places with any movie or TV character, who would it be?
DR: It would have to be a superhero. I’d probably do Doctor Strange from Marvel. He’s lit.

PB: What show have you been binging lately?
DR: Right now I’m watching this show on Netflix called “Vinland Saga.” It’s awesome. It’s about Vikings. I’m a big sci-fi guy, so it’s actually perfect.

PB: What book are you currently reading?
DR: I’m currently reading “Master Your Mindset.” Basically it’s just about overcoming the mind. It says in the book if you can overcome your mind and the way you think about things, you can do anything.

PB: What’s your favorite thing about Towson?
DR: Favorite thing about Towson would definitely be the community. I feel like everywhere I go … really nice people. Everyone has a story, and most times people are willing to share. Just the things that you can do and the people that you can meet, it’s just all nice altogether. So I would say the community.
