2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Double-Elimination Run
There have been few more successful local college programs lately than Morgan State softball, which has won 114 games and two MEAC championships since 2019.
The Bears won a program-record 35 games in 2024, punching their ticket to the NCAA Tournament by winning five straight games in the double-elimination MEAC tournament after losing the opener.
The final victory was a 6-0 win against Coppin State that featured a grand slam by first baseman Gianna Ettore.
