Best College Athletes: Blake Horvath
Navy football entered the fall looking for the juice it had lacked from the quarterback position in recent years.
The Mids got exactly that with junior Blake Horvath, who had thrown for 1,261 yards, run for 1,099 yards and accounted for 28 total touchdowns entering the Armed Forces Bowl against Oklahoma on Dec. 27.
His best game came in a 56-44 win against Memphis on Sept. 21, when he racked up 192 yards and two touchdowns through the air and 211 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Hey, there’s more than one dual-threat quarterback in the area.
