2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Catch
Every year there are seemingly several Cedric Mullins catches to sort through for this edition, and this year was no different.
The best one, though, came on April 15 at Camden Yards. Twins shortstop Buck Farmer hit a 94 mph fastball from Cole Irvin toward the bullpens in left-center field. Though he was shaded toward right field to start, Mullins tracked down the drive just shy of the warning track, diving Superman-style to make the sensational grab while airborne.
“Tip your cap Cole Irvin, tip your cap everybody! Cedric Mullins, insane in center,” MASN play-by-play man Kevin Brown said.
