2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Tiptoes
Trailing in the fourth quarter of a November game against the Bengals, Lamar Jackson threw a short pass to Tylan Wallace that appeared to be enough for a first down and not much more. But after shedding the first would-be tackler, Wallace made his way up the left sideline, shoved off another would-be tackler, eluded a third and rumbled 84 yards for a score.
Most everyone watching worried that Wallace had actually stepped out of bounds near midfield and the touchdown would be overturned. But upon review, Wallace remarkably kept his toes on the green grass while lifting his heel over the white sideline, successfully walking the tightrope and the touchdown was upheld.
