2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Last Hurrah
The 2024 Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill marked the final cross country course design for Ian Stark, a legend in the sport. And Stark pulled no punches, designing a course so difficult that only eight of the 21 pairs of horses and riders were able to complete the course and move on to the final day of the competition.
The October event was won by Olympic gold medalist Oliver Townend of Great Britain aboard Ballaghmor Class. The event saw continued growth in Cecil County and the introduction of live betting.
