You think this is easy putting power rankings together each week? The top 10-12 teams are usually pretty easy each year, with very few teams bursting into the top 10 once the cement starts to settle.

This year is different. St. Louis has jumped from No. 15 to No. 9. The Cardinals have played some of the most consistent baseball in the league all season long. Ironically, they just happen to be coming to town to test this tiny spurt of 3-2 baseball the Orioles are on right now.

Now check out Nos. 16-23. There are eight teams separated by one game. That is tight.

Here are my latest power rankings, without comments on the top 10:

1. Detroit Tigers (35-20, No. 1 last week)
