Orioles Prospect Enrique Bradfield Jr. Making Up For Lost Time In Arizona Fall League

Orioles outfield prospect Enrique Bradfield Jr., playing for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League, recently made an outstanding catch for his team.

The 6-foot, 170-pound outfielder stole a home run from Fenwick Trimble as part of a 6-2 win against the Mesa Solar Sox on Oct. 16:

“I was running over there thinking the ball’s gone by 15, 20 feet,” Bradfield said on Glenn Clark Radio Oct. 21. “I started to watch it come down. I was looking over at our left fielder, [Braedon Karpathios], and I’m like, ‘Man, he’s not really close to this. Wait, this ball’s coming in my direction.’ As it started coming down and I started getting closer to the wall I was like, ‘Oh, I might be able to make a play on this,’ so I just went up. I got my glove on it. I hit the wall, and it actually knocked the ball out of my glove, and it just happened to bounce in front of my face.”

Bradfield, a 2023 first-round pick of the Orioles, hit .242/.348/.348 across four levels this year but was limited to 76 games due to multiple hamstring injuries. He was approached by the Orioles about playing in the Arizona Fall League to make up for lost time.

“I took the advice, and having conversations with certain people in our organization, I just thought it was a really good, important time for me to come out here and just keep working,” Bradfield said. “I played in I think 70, 75 games maybe, if that. It gives me a chance to continue getting more at-bats to go out to come out here, have a solid six weeks of action, just really be focused.”

Prospects go to the Arizona Fall League to get more playing time after the minor league season ends. This is especially true for players such as Bradfield who missed time due to injury. He is grateful for the opportunity to build on what he accomplished in 2025.

“Getting promoted to Triple-A was a huge positive. In the 15 games, I didn’t play as well as I would have liked, but I was out there and I was healthy,” Bradfield said. “That was very important to me. Coming out here, I’m having a blast, but I’m healthy and I feel really good.”

Bradfield was asked about the best advice he received going into this season and the importance of being present through ups and downs.

“I know what I have for tomorrow, and past that, I can’t tell you what else I have. I know I’ll be playing, but I don’t know who we are playing. I don’t know what time we’re playing at. I am living truly to be right where my feet are, and I’m honestly just putting one foot in front of the next and just walking forward through this thing called life,” Bradfield said. “Whether it’s on the field, off the field, I just want to be present — present with my family, present with my friends, present in my work every day when I show up.”
