Best Sports Book
2019 was an incredible year for Baltimore sports literature.
Kevin Cowherd’s “When The Crowd Didn’t Roar” (about the fanless 2015 Orioles-White Sox game) was a particularly good read. New books from Cal Ripken Jr. and Baltimore native Ron Swoboda were similarly enjoyable.
But when former Ravens offensive lineman and ACTUAL GENIUS MATHEMATICIAN John Urschel decided to tell his story in May (“Mind And Matter: A Life In Math And Football”), the material was too captivating to be anything other than must-read.
