PressBox 100 Block Charity Pool Supports Local Causes

This year marks the 10th year of PressBox’s 100 Block Charity Pool. Sponsored by Chesapeake Urology, PressBox advertisers and friends come together each year to make the Big Game pay off for some great local charities.

So far, PressBox has raised more than $115,000 for local charities and foundations in the community. Who will be the lucky organizations that win big this year?

The winners of each quarter, whose numbers match the last digit of each team’s score, will earn $3,000 for the charity of their choice.

* In the event of a tie in regulation, the fourth winner will be determined by the final score.

“PressBox is excited to be able to provide this opportunity to support some deserving local causes,” PressBox publisher and founder Stan “The Fan” Charles said. “No matter who’s playing on Sunday or who wins the game, the real winners are the local charities who do so much all year round.”

“Our sponsors, vendors and friends are pretty amazing,” PressBox managing partner John Coulson said. “They support our 100 Block Charity Pool on a year-in, year-out basis, and it’s fun to create exposure and donations for some of the great local charities that don’t get all of the media attention.”

Last year, with the score 0-0 at the end of the first quarter, South Baltimore Network won $3,000 for The Transformation Center. With the score New England 3, Los Angeles 0 at the end of the second quarter, PressBox won $3,000 for Team Up For 1, and with the score 3-3 at the end of the third quarter and 13-3 at the end of the game, won a total of $6,000 for the Doug Parker Memorial Scholarship.

*  No company or person may enter this pool to win prize money directly. All proceeds will be awarded to the charities in the names of the companies or persons purchasing the winning boxes.
