MPSSAA Boys, Girls State Basketball Tournaments Postponed

The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association has postponed its boys’ and girls’ state basketball tournaments, which were to be completed March 12-14, due to COVID-19.

The semifinals for each tournament — classes 1A through 4A, boys and girls — were scheduled for March 12-13. The finals were all set for March 14. The boys’ semifinals and title games were scheduled to be held at the University of Maryland’s Xfinity Center, while the girls’ games were set to be played at Towson University’s SECU Arena.

The MPSSAA stated that the games are postponed “until further notice.”

Southern Garrett vs. Edmondson Westside
Fairmont Heights vs. Lake Clifton

Boys, Class 2A

Wicomico vs. Frederick Douglas
New Town vs. Oakdale

Boys, Class 3A

St. Charles vs. Atholton
Poly vs. Northeast (Pasadena, Md.)

Boys, Class 4A

Richard Montgomery vs. Wise
Springbrook vs. Parkville

Girls, Class 1A

CMIT North vs. Coppin Academy
Southern Garrett vs. Surrattsville

Girls, Class 2A

Westlake vs. Pikesville
Middletown vs. Forest Park

Girls, Class 3A

Easton vs. Frederick
Rockville vs. Poly

Girls, Class 4A

Howard vs. Western
Charles H. Flowers vs. Churchill
