2021 marks PressBox’s fifth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Goal
Maryland men’s lacrosse was already up, 8-3, on Ohio State early in the third quarter of an April matchup. The Buckeyes were in a 10-man ride, trying to force a turnover to spark a rally. They got the opposite result.
When a long pole defender scores a goal in lacrosse, it tends to be an electric play. When a goalie scores, it tends to create bedlam. Terps goalie Logan McNaney recognized the cage was open because of the 10-man ride and ripped a shot from 60 yards out, bouncing it home on his first career shot.
