After there wasn’t a minor-league season at all in 2020, the return of Minor League Baseball in 2021 gave Orioles fans a glimpse of how this painful rebuilding process might bear fruit.
With top pitching prospect Grayson Rodriguez set to make his home debut for Double-A Bowie in June, a group of Orioles fans and the team worked together for a “gas can night,” with a massive crowd taking in the game with empty gas cans in tow.
While you might think the gas cans were a reflection of Rodriguez’s mighty arm and how he throws “gas,” it was actually about how the top Orioles prospects like to “gas” each other up on Twitter.
