Best Postseason Defense
Prior to 2021, the Maryland men’s basketball program had not recorded a single NCAA Tournament win against a single-digit seed in the Mark Turgeon era. That changed in March.
The 10th-seeded Terps absolutely suffocated soon-to-be No. 11 overall NBA Draft pick James Bouknight and seventh-seeded UConn. The Huskies shot just 32.4 percent from the field for the game as the Terrapins cruised to a 63-54 first-round win. Bouknight (who ironically shares a name with most students’ least favorite college activity) finished just 6-for-16 from the floor.
