2021 marks PressBox’s fifth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Swan Songs
Former Johns Hopkins star Paul Rabil is a great player who made himself so marketable that he practically became synonymous with the sport of lacrosse itself. His former Blue Jays teammate Kyle Harrison (Friends) is a truly great player himself and may well be the greatest Black lacrosse player of all time.
The duo was influential in launching the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) both as players and behind the scenes (Rabil as co-founder and chief marketing officer, Harrison as director of player relations and diversity inclusion).
Both retired as on-field players at the end of the league’s 2021 season.
