Three Up:

1. New York Mets First Baseman Pete Alonso — The Mets are pushing toward October, and Alonso continues to be a big reason why. The first baseman hit three home runs in the past week to go along with 10 RBIs and eight runs scored. For the season, Alonso is hitting .283 with 29 home runs, 95 RBIs and 64 runs scored.

2. Baltimore Orioles Shortstop Jorge Mateo — The shortstop was a recent waiver-wire recommendation and has shown consistency during the last month, giving us hope this isn’t a fluke. During the past week, Mateo hit .350 with three home runs, eight RBIs, seven runs scored and two stolen bases. In Mateo’s last 20 games, the shortstop is batting .304 with five home runs, 12 RBIs, 14 runs scored and five stolen bases. Mateo is helping in all five categories, and if he can sustain this for the next couple of months, there’s no doubt he will help push fantasy owners up the leaderboard.

3. Toronto Blue Jays Starting Pitcher Kevin Gausman — The right-hander continues his strong season, as he dominated this past week. Gausman didn’t allow a run in his two starts while striking out 15. For the season, Gausman is pitching to a 2.91 ERA with 137 strikeouts.

Three Down:

1. Toronto Blue Jays Third Baseman Matt Chapman — The veteran has been mentioned in the “Three Up” recently, but it was a brutal week for the third baseman. Chapman collected only two hits while striking out 14 times. If there is a positive spin, one of the hits was a home run, but that’s about it. For the season, Chapman is batting .238 with 21 home runs, 58 RBIs and 57 runs scored.

2. Atlanta Braves First Baseman Matt Olson — It was a rough week for Olson, as he collected only five hits while striking out 10 times. It’s been a difficult stretch for the veteran, as Olson is only batting .227 in his last 23 games. For the season, Olson is batting .248 with 21 home runs, 70 RBIs and 53 runs scored.

3. San Diego Padres Starting Pitcher Sean Manaea — The Padres have not played well since their huge acquisitions at the trade deadline, as they were swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Manaea has been inconsistent this season. He is pitching to a 4.74 ERA, which is unacceptable. The left-hander allowed eight earned runs in only four innings during his Aug. 5 start. If the Padres are going to make the playoffs, Manaea needs to turn things around
