Ravens List RB J.K. Dobbins, CB Marcus Peters As Questionable For Jets Game

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Ravens officially listed running back J.K. Dobbins and cornerback Marcus Peters as questionable for the season-opening game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 11, and head coach John Harbaugh was noncommittal about the availability of both players.

“I’m really not going to get into any of that stuff, because it doesn’t do us any good for us to comment on any of that,” Harbaugh said after the team’s Sept. 9 workout.

“As far as who plays and who’s not going to play,” he added, “that just happens at 11:30 on Sunday,” when the team is required to submit its game day inactive players.

All-Pro tackle Ronnie Stanley is officially listed as doubtful. He returned to practice just a week ago from the ankle injury that sidelined him for 26 of the past 27 regular-season games, and he is slowly working back up to speed. He missed practice on Sept. 8.

The only player the Ravens have ruled out is rookie defensive lineman Travis Jones, who has been sidelined since sustaining a knee injury in the preseason game at Arizona on Aug. 21. At the time, he was expected to be out 3-5 weeks.

Dobbins and Peters returned to practice in August and have been gradually ramping up their activity. Dobbins was limited in all three of the team’s practices this week, according to the final injury report, and Peters has also been limited and missed Friday’s workout, though Harbaugh said that was a designed rest day for the Pro Bowl cornerback.

The Ravens had hoped that their rash of 2021 injuries would be behind them by the time the 2022 season began, but that’s clearly not the case. Dobbins, Peters and Stanley are not yet at 100 percent, while running back Gus Edwards (knee) and linebacker Tyus Bowser (Achilles) are on the reserve/PUP list, meaning they will be out for at least the first four games.

The Jets, meanwhile, are dealing with their own tackle injury issues. Mekhi Becton (knee) was already lost for the season, and veteran tackle Duane Brown has been ruled out of the Ravens game with a shoulder injury.

The Jets announced earlier this week that quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) will also be out, leaving Joe Flacco as the starter against the team he led to a Super Bowl title in the 2012 season. It will Flacco’s first matchup against his former team.
