It’s a relatively quiet week for potential waiver claims, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some options who can help you moving forward, headlined by a couple Seahawks.
Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks: It’s safe to say most of us were dead wrong to completely write off Smith and the Seahawks this year. He’s thrown seven touchdowns and just one interception Seattle’s last three games, and with bye weeks now upon us, he’s a solid streaming option.
Kenneth Walker, RB, Seattle Seahawks: He’s the next in line to take over for an injured teammate. Walker will be the Seahawks’ lead back moving forward with the injury to Rashad Penny. Seattle used high draft capital on him and he busted a long touchdown run against the Saints on Sunday. He should be your top target this week if he’s available.
Mike Boone, RB, Denver Broncos: Melvin Gordon got more carries with the injury to Javonte Williams, but Boone was clearly the more explosive player. Both should be rostered, but Boone might be the better play for the long haul.
Tevin Coleman, RB, San Francisco 49ers: Coleman was elevated from the practice squad this week. He was No. 2 in the pecking order, and 11 touches were second to only Jeff Wilson. Wilson is still the running back to own in this backfield, but Coleman is next in line if something were to go wrong.
Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants: Someone on the Giants has to catch passes, and Slayton got over 25 percent of the targets this past week. The quarterback situation is shaky so he doesn’t instantly become a starter, but he becomes a FLEX option if the production continues.
Taysom Hill, TE, New Orleans Saints: It’s almost a cheat code to play Hill as tight end when he has zero receptions but still scores four touchdowns. You won’t get that type of production every week, but he’s one of the few players in all of fantasy that can make or break games.
Evan Engram, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars: Any player garnering 10 targets needs to be on your radar. Doug Pederson has always favored his tight ends, and Engram can be a weekly starter if he continues to see that many looks.
