2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Anaya Hunte
When Anaya Hunte transferred to Morgan State ahead of the 2022 softball season, we’re pretty sure head coach Larry Hineline didn’t know he had landed the MEAC Pitcher of the Year. Hunte posted a 1.79 ERA in 117 innings (17 starts, 11 relief appearances) while punching out a MEAC-best 142 hitters. The sophomore threw a perfect game at Delaware State in April for good measure. “I was able to settle in very quickly,” Hunte told PressBox in the spring. Seems like an understatement.
