2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Bloodline
We’re hoping 2022 was the last time the Orioles pick No. 1 in the MLB Draft … or anywhere close. Still, the club had an opportunity to select an elite talent and went with Oklahoma high school shortstop Jackson Holliday, son of seven-time All-Star Matt Holliday. “This is what I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember,” Jackson said at his introductory news conference, laying out his goal to reach the big leagues in two years or less.
