Best Fairy Tale
Everyone at Camden Yards on July 28 knew they might be witnessing Trey Mancini’s last game as an Oriole in Baltimore. They just didn’t know how special it would be. In what could turn out to be his last at-bat as an Oriole at Camden Yards, Mancini lifted what appeared to be a routine fly ball to Rays right fielder Josh Lowe in the eighth inning … but Lowe lost it in the sun. The ball careened off his face and toward the right field line. As center fielder Roman Quinn chased it down, Mancini circled the bases for an inside-the-park homer. Oh, and it came on Mo Gaba Day at the ballpark. “A fairy tale has come to life,” Orioles play-by-play man Kevin Brown said.
