2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Girls’ Coach
It had been two decades of close calls for Poly girls’ basketball coach Kendall Peace until she won her first state title with the Engineers in March. Poly knocked off Howard, 60-37, in the MPSSAA Class 3A state title game, snapping the Lions’ 44-game winning streak. Peace had been to the MPSSAA Final Four nine times with Poly before breaking through in 2022. She carried a career mark of 364-89 with the Engineers into the 2022-23 season.
