2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Long-Awaited Event
The Maryland Cycling Classic was scheduled to debut in 2020 but was twice delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 event proved worth the wait, electrifying the area from Sparks all the way to the Inner Harbor. The race is the highest-stature one-day cycling race in the U.S. The inaugural title was claimed by Belgium’s Sep Vanmarcke. There are plans to expand upon the event, with hopes to add a women’s race in 2023.
