2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best On The Pitch
The Calvert Hall soccer team entered the MIAA A Conference championship match against John Carroll with exactly one blemish on its record — a tie against the Patriots in early September. The Cardinals were down 1-0 with less than 10 minutes to go in the title game when forward Ryan Belal tied the game, setting the stage for forward Rich Monath to win it for Calvert Hall in double overtime, clinching a 24-0-1 championship season. Head coach Rich Zinkand’s program finished the campaign as the No. 2 team in the nation in Prep Soccer’s Fab 50 poll.
