2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Reminder
The Navy football team was sitting at 3-6 on the season when it was down, 35-13, at halftime of its game against Notre Dame at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium in November. The Mids could’ve easily folded the tent, but that’s not what is taught at the Naval Academy. They outscored Notre Dame, 19-0, in the second half as part of a comeback that fell just short, then beat No. 20 UCF, 17-14, in Orlando the following week. It was a reminder of the determination and resolve Ken Niumatalolo brought to Annapolis as the head coach for 15 years.
