2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Senior Class
The UMBC softball team has won the past three America East championships dating back to 2019, a credit to head coach Chris Kuhlmeyer and the seniors who have been around since the start of the run: Courtney Coppersmith, Logan Hawker, Karly Keating, Gillian McCarthy, Chloe Obispo and Sierra Pierce. The star of the group is Coppersmith, the three-time America East Pitcher of the Year who has struck out 861 hitters in 517.1 innings in four seasons. She’ll be back for a fifth year.
