2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Sixth-Round Starter
Randallstown alum Christian Benford was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Villanova. And in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season, he was starting at cornerback for the Super Bowl favorites against the defending champions. Benford was pressed into starting duty for the Bills due to injury and held his own, earning four more starts (and recording his first career interception) before being placed on injured reserve. Meanwhile, Franklin alum Tre Avery made his NFL debut in September with the Titans.
