2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Streak
Who would’ve thought that all the Orioles needed to turn around their season were back-to-back losses in the bottom of the ninth inning? After then-closer Jorge López blew two saves in Minnesota in early July, the Orioles ripped off 10 straight wins, the last two coming at historic Wrigley Field in Chicago. By the end of the streak, the Orioles were 45-44. It marked the longest winning streak for the team since 1999, when it won 13 straight.
