Baltimore Ravens’ 2022 Regular Season Rewind

The Baltimore Ravens finished the 2022 regular season with a 10-7 record and the No. 6 overall seed in the AFC.

Here’s a look back at how they got here:

Devin Duvernay

Week 1: Ravens 24, Jets 9

The Ravens sacked Joe Flacco three times, hit him 11 times and kept the Jets out of the end zone for 59 minutes as they rolled to a 24-9, season-opening win against the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Devin Duvernay hauled in two touchdowns, matching his total from all of last season. [Read the full story.]

Marcus Peters

Week 2: Dolphins 42, Ravens 38

Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw six touchdown passes, including four in the fourth quarter as the Dolphins found the end zone on every fourth-quarter possession. Tagovailoa threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle with 14 seconds left to hand the Ravens a 42-38 loss in their home opener. [Read the full story.]

Week 3: Ravens 37, Patriots 26

A week after the Ravens’ secondary was shredded for four fourth-quarter touchdowns in a shocking 42-38 loss to the Dolphins, the secondary responded with three game-changing plays, and Lamar Jackson dazzled en route to five touchdowns as the Ravens outlasted the Patriots, 37-26. Week 4: Bills 23, Ravens 20

The Ravens intercepted Bills quarterback Josh Allen on the third play of the game and scored touchdowns on their first two drives. But for the second straight home game this year, the Ravens saw a sizeable lead vanish, and Bills kicker Tyler Bass hit a 21-yard field goal as time expired to lift Buffalo to a 23-20 win. Justin Tucker

Week 5: Ravens 19, Bengals 17

After matter-of-factly drilling a 58-yard field goal earlier in the game, Justin Tucker hit a 43-yard field goal as time expired to give the Ravens a 19-17 win against the Cincinnati Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium and vault the Ravens into the AFC North lead. [Read the full story.]

Lamar Jackson

Week 6: Giants 24, Ravens 20

Mark Andrews caught a 12-yard touchdown catch early in the fourth quarter to give the Ravens a 10-point lead, but this year, that has proved to be an ominous position. And sure enough, the Giants scored 14 points during the final 6:01 to rally for a 24-20 win against the Ravens at MetLife Stadium. [Read the full story.]

Gus Edwards

Week 7: Ravens 23, Browns 20

The Ravens opened a 10-point second-half lead against Cleveland, only to see the Browns crawl back to within three points, and when Justice Hill lost a fumble at the Cleveland 16-yard line with 3:12 left, a familiar, ominous feeling hovered over M&T Bank Stadium. But eight plays later, Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison blocked the Browns’ 60-yard field goal attempt, and that allowed the Ravens to finish off a 23-20 win. [Read the full story.]

Isaiah Likely

Week 8: Ravens 27, Buccaneers 22

Despite losing Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman and Gus Edwards to injuries, the Ravens rolled to four scores on four offensive possessions in the second half and pulled away to a 27-22 win against the host Buccaneers. Rookie tight end Isaiah Likely finished with six catches for a team-high 77 yards and his first career touchdown. [Read the full story.]

Lamar Jackson

Week 9: Ravens 27, Saints 13

The Ravens suffocated the host New Orleans Saints, 27-13, on “Monday Night Football.” The Ravens jumped to a 14-0 lead and never let the Saints threaten, holding them to two field goals over the first 55 minutes and using their relentless, ground-and-pound rushing attack to control the tempo and the clock in the second half. Week 10: Bye

Ravens vs. Panthers

Week 11: Ravens 13, Panthers 3

Lamar Jackson’s 1-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter was the only one either team would score. But Jackson’s keeper with 7:16 left, a pair of Justin Tucker field goals and stifling defense throughout was enough for the Ravens to win ugly, 13-3, against the visiting Panthers. John Harbaugh

Week 12: Jaguars 28, Ravens 27

The Ravens added an entirely new layer of anguish in this series as the Jaguars roared back for a stunning 28-27 win with a go-ahead touchdown and two-point conversion with 14 seconds left. The Ravens had a last-gasp attempt at the win, but Justin Tucker’s 67-yard field-goal try as time expired landed about a yard short. [Read the full story.]

Tyler Huntley

Week 13: Ravens 10, Broncos 9

Lamar Jackson left with a knee injury at the end of the first quarter, but backup quarterback Tyler Huntley engineered a 16-play, 91-yard drive in the closing minutes, and his 2-yard touchdown run with 28 seconds left, coupled with Justin Tucker’s point-after kick, lifted the Ravens to a 10-9 win against the reeling Broncos. Anthony Brown

Week 14: Ravens 16, Steelers 14

In a series with a lot of unlikely heroes, Anthony Brown might be the most unlikely of all. The undrafted rookie from Oregon, who was pressed into action when Tyler Huntley was placed in concussion protocol, calmly guided the Ravens to a 16-14 win that was essentially sealed by what John Harbaugh called one of the great drives in the history of the rivalry. Week 15: Browns 13, Ravens 3

Playing without starting quarterback Lamar Jackson, who missed his second straight game with a knee injury, the Ravens failed to reach the end zone for the first time since their playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills at the end of the 2020 season. And an accumulation of errors proved too much to overcome as the Ravens fell to the Browns, 13-3, at FirstEnergy Stadium. [Read the full story.]

Ravens vs. Falcons

Week 16: Ravens 17, Falcons 9

With a gametime temperature of 17, the lowest for a home game in franchise history, and a kickoff wind chill of 2 degrees, the Ravens slogged through a 17-9 win against the Falcons at M&T Bank Stadium on Christmas Eve afternoon. And for the second time in the past four games, the Ravens’ defense did not allow a touchdown. [Read the full story.]

Ravens vs. Steelers

Week 17: Steelers 16, Ravens 13

Quarterback Tyler Huntley made his fourth straight start in place of Lamar Jackson, who has been sidelined since sustaining a sprained knee in the first quarter against Denver on Dec. 4. But the Steelers stymied Huntley and the Ravens in the fourth quarter, with back-to-back three-and-outs that set up the Steelers for the comeback win. [Read the full story.]

Week 18: Bengals 27, Ravens 16

The Ravens went to Cincinnati for the 2022 regular-season finale knowing that if they won, they had a chance to host the Bengals in a playoff game by virtue of a coin flip. A coin flip required a Ravens win, though, and any suspense about that evaporated in the first half. The Bengals converted three early Ravens turnovers into touchdowns and cruised to a 27-16 win.
