Morgan State men’s basketball senior guard Isaiah Burke recently chatted with PressBox about his favorite sports star growing up, his favorite spot to eat in Baltimore and more. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound guard is averaging 17.4 points, 2.5 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game entering play Dec. 22. Burke is a native of Bowie, Md., and graduate of Bowie High School.
PressBox: What’s your favorite guilty food?
Isaiah Burke: Carryout chicken cheesesteaks.
PB: What’s a bucket-list place you’ve never been?
IB: I want to go to the Dominican Republic.
PB: Who was your favorite sports star growing up?
IB: Kobe Bryant
PB: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
IB: I like the “Transformers” series, all of them.
PB: If you could trade places with any movie or TV character, who would it be?
IB: Black Panther
PB: What’s your go-to karaoke song?
IB: I would say Lil Baby, “Heyy.”
PB: Is there an exercise you hate doing?
IB: Planks, but I do have good abs.
PB: What’s your favorite spot to eat in Baltimore?
IB: It’s this place called Papi Cuisine [in Federal Hill].
PB: What’s a show you’ve been binging lately?
IB: “Buying Beverly Hills”
PB: What’s your favorite thing to do on a day off?
IB: I watch a lot of YouTube videos, podcasts, interviews and just get knowledge from different types of people around the world. I’d just say learning.
