Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC), also known as Baltimore’s Classic Five, will host the 2023 Baltimore Putting Championship to determine Baltimore’s Best Putter. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Baltimore’s Classic Five Junior Golf program, which encourages young golfers to become involved with the game.
Golfers will participate in qualifying rounds July 16-17 and finals July 19. The event is open to golfers of all skill levels with two divisions of competition — Adult (18+) and Junior (17 years of age or younger).
Qualifying rounds will be held Sunday, July 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, July 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at all Classic 5 Golf Courses (Pine Ridge Golf Course, Mount Pleasant Golf Course, Clifton Park Golf Course, Forest Park Golf Course and Carroll Park Golf Course). The Final round will be held Wednesday, July 19, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Golf Course.
There is no pre-registration for the Classic Five Baltimore Putting Championship. Contestants are invited to show up at any one of the Baltimore’s Classic Five Golf Courses during the allotted qualifying time window.
At each course, the lowest three scores (plus ties) in each division will qualify for the finals. Registration fees are $10.00 for adults and free for juniors. Contestants can enter only once at each golf course. Play will be governed by the rules of golf of the United States Golf Association (USGA) except where a local rule is defined. All equipment must fall within the guidelines of the USGA. Balls used by contestants must conform to USGA specifications.
The winners of the adult and junior divisions each receive vouchers for 25 free rounds of golf.
