Jeremy Conn’s Plays Of The Day: July 21, 2023

I’m going to list my favorite plays for today’s slate of games. Things are always subject to change due to players sitting or games even being postponed. Make sure you are paying attention to any and all late-breaking news, and try to use common sense if a point spread moves up or down. The plays I LOVE are my top plays for the slate. Whether you fade or follow, good luck!

3-2 ATS yesterday.

Cubs-Cardinals under 8.5 (2:20 p.m. ET start) — We get a good pitching matchup with Jack Flaherty and Justin Steele in this game. The weather greatly supports an under with the wind blowing in, and that should help offset the power from both of these teams. Take the under.

Brewers -105 Braves — I know people might think I’m crazy, but I really like this spot for the Brewers. The bats have looked better as of late, but more importantly they have been pitching better. There are no easy outs in the Braves’ lineup, but I do think Freddy Peralta can rack up some strikeouts against them. I like the Brewers at home.

Angels-Pirates under 8 — We get Shohei Ohtani on the bump today, and Johan Oviedo will be pitching for the Pirates. It’s a fairly good matchup for the under. The weather supports an under as well. Ohtani should dominate this lineup. I think Oviedo can deal with this Angels lineup … just be careful when their pitcher is hitting.
