I’m going to list my favorite plays for today’s slate of games. Things are always subject to change due to players sitting or games even being postponed. Make sure you are paying attention to any and all late-breaking news, and try to use common sense if a point spread moves up or down. The plays I LOVE are my top plays for the slate. 2-1 ATS yesterday. The Angels’ bullpen blew a perfect day.
Cubs-Royals over 9 (2:20 p.m. ET) — Top play for me today. I love this spot for an over. The wind is blowing out at Wrigley. Justin Steele is in the mix for NL CY Young this year, but he is effectively wild at times. Brady Singer has been great since the All-Star break. Singer is a fly ball pitcher and I think this could be a long day for him, and I would’t be shocked if Steele doesn’t go deep in the game
Yankees-Red Sox over 8.5 (1:05 p.m. ET) — Another one of my favorite plays today. People will bet the under because Gerrit Cole is pitching. Cole’s downside is he does give up the long ball. The wnd is blowing out to center today. Kutter Crawford is pitching for the Sox, and he has been terrible against left-handed hitting. Even though the Yankees are predominantly right-handed, I still love the over.
Orioles-Athletics under 8.5 — Both pitchers in this game grade out fairly well with the matchup. I’m surprised at how much my algorithm likes Ken Waldichuk, and we get a Cole Irvin revenge game. I think both pitchers keep this a low-scoring game. Take the under.
