I’m going to list my favorite plays for today’s slate of games. Things are always subject to change due to players sitting or games even being postponed. Make sure you are paying attention to any and all late-breaking news, and try to use common sense if a point spread moves up or down. The plays I LOVE are my top plays for the slate. Whether you fade or follow, good luck!
Padres-Dodgers over 8.5 — I love this spot for an over. I’ve said this before, but Blake Snell puts too many guys on base. He does have the best ERA in the National League, but he is a five-inning pitcher. The Padres get Ryan Pepiot and they shouldn’t have an issue with him. Take the over.
Twins-Rays under 8.5 — It’s not a great pitching matchup, but this is the best weather spot of the day. Dallas Keuchel is an extreme ground-ball pitcher. Taj Bradley is a good prospect and should strike out a bunch of Twins today. With the early-game shadows, that could cause some issues for the first few innings.
Marlins -110 Brewers — The Marlins have been completely destroyed this series by the Brewers, but this pitching matchup favors the Marlins. Braxton Garrett faces Colin Rea. I love attacking Rea, who just hasn’t figured it out at the major league level yet. I think the Marlins’ bats get going today to avoid the sweep.
