Joe Serpico shares his top fantasy football waiver-wire pickups heading into Week 6.

D’Onta Foreman, RB, Chicago Bears: This isn’t a long-term fix at running back, but Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson both left with injuries against the Commanders on Thursday. Herbert’s ankle injury is expected to force him to miss some time and Johnson will have to pass concussion protocol, but if both miss Week 6, Foreman is a FLEX option.

Emari Demercado, RB, Arizona Cardinals: James Conner left Sunday’s game against the Bengals with a knee injury, and the extent of the injury is still unknown. Demercado, an undrafted rookie from TCU, took all the team’s carries once Conner went down, including an 11-yard score. Keaontay Ingram has been inactive the past two weeks with a neck injury, setting the stage for Demercado to potentially get his first NFL start.

Josh Reynolds, WR, Detroit Lions: I had Jameson Williams listed in this piece a week ago, and still feel he’s worth stashing if you have the roster space. Williams is going to be eased back into action, and in the meantime, Reynolds will see most of the targets as the WR2. Amon-Ra St. Brown is battling an abdomen injury and could miss more time, so that would give both players more targets.

Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts: Downs had a career-high 97 receiving yards in Week 5 and now has 21 targets in his last three games. Anthony Richardson’s injury means the team will turn to Gardner Minshew, who is a better passer at this stage of his career. Minshew is a boost for the Colts’ entire receiving corps.

Logan Thomas, TE, Washington Commanders: There wasn’t much to get excited for at the tight end position this week, but Thomas is starting to show signs of the player who had been fantasy relevant when healthy. He has more than 40 yards in three of his four games played, and with the state of the Commanders’ offensive line, Sam Howell is looking often to his tight end.
