OWINGS MILLS, MD. — Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice on Dec. 8 after missing the team’s workout a day earlier with an illness, so all indications are he will be ready to go when the Ravens host the Los Angeles Rams at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m.
Jackson had not missed a practice all season before sitting out the workout on Thursday. He was the second player to sit out this week because of illness. Wide receiver Rashod Bateman had missed Wednesday’s practice but was back on the field the next day.
The Ravens (9-3) are coming off their bye week and the Rams game begins a rugged five-week stretch to end the season. After facing the Rams, the Ravens travel to Jacksonville (8-4) for a “Sunday Night Football” prime-time matchup on Dec. 17 and then visit San Francisco (9-3) on Christmas night. The Ravens then close the season at home against Miami (9-3) and Pittsburgh (7-6).
Through 12 games this year, Jackson has completed 228 of 334 passes for 2,618 yards, with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions. His completion percentage of .683 is the best of his career. He ranks 17th in the league in passing yardage and seventh in passer rating (98.4).
Jackson also has rushed 112 times for 574 yards and five touchdowns. As of now, he trails running back Gus Edwads (590) for the team lead in rushing yards; Jackson has been the team’s leading rusher in all four seasons in which he has been the full-time starting quarterback.
The only player not on the practice field for the Ravens on Dec. 8 was wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He has not been on the team’s injury report all week, so it could be a day off for the veteran.
